Describe the layers in a rainforest. Illustrate your work.
There are four layers in a rainforest. The first one is the forest floor. This is where small, developing plants grow and some types of animals live. The second layer is the understory. This layer also have developing trees and a few different types of animals. The third layer is the canopy. The canopy is the top of the rainforest where fully developed trees grow, overlapping each other to create a huge shade cloth over the rest of the rainforest. Finally, the last layer is the emergent layer, where extremely tall trees grow, emerging out of the canopy. There are animals up here such as birds and even some small monkeys.
What is a Rainforest?
A rainforest is a certain amount of space, covered in trees, vines, twigs, bushes and animals. Rainforests also have different climates. Tropical rainforests are hot and humid and temperate rainforests are cool and moist.
